National visa (i.e. long-term – marked with D symbol) – entitles to entry and a continuous stay in the territory of Poland or to several consecutive stays which jointly last longer than 90 days, the period of validity of a national visa cannot exceed 1 year.

Remember to check the validity of your documents and to apply for a temporary residence permit before your visa expires.

The application should be submitted at the Office for Foreigners of the proper Regional (Voivodship) Office.

• a valid travel document (passport) or other valid identification document,
• a document certifying the enrolment to studies or continuation of studying/certificate of attendance to a preparatory course (issued by a proper Dean’s Office),
• a document confirming inclusion in health insurance system or entitlement to use health service provisions,
• a proof confirming the possession of sufficient financial means to support yourself (to live and study in Poland),
• documents indicating the cost of accommodation  (rental agreement with a statement that the cost mentioned includes the following expenses: gas, electricity,  waste disposal, rent etc.),
• the certificate concerning the  registration of residence is free of charge and valid indefinitely.

• 2 copies of the application form for  granting temporary residence permit,
• 4 recent photos in  colour,
• a valid travel document (passport in two copies),
• a document certifying the enrolment to studies or continuation of studying/certificate of attendance to a preparatory course (issued by a proper Dean’s Office),
• proof of tuition fee payment, if you take up or continue the payable studies, or a confirmation that you do not pay for your studies (for example: a document certifying that you receive a scholarship, a document issued by a proper Dean’s Office),
• documents confirming holding of health insurance,
• documents confirming that you hold sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay and return to the country of origin or residence,
• documents indicating the cost of accommodation  (rental agreement with a statement that the cost mentioned includes the following expenses: gas, electricity,  waste disposal, rent etc.),
• the cost of submitting the application reaches 340 PLN, the issuing of the temporary residence permit costs 50 PLN or 25 PLN with a student discount.

Remember that the documents prepared in a foreign language must be translated into Polish by a certified translator.
